Rick is our Auto trades specialist with over 30 years’ experience in the Collision Repair and Automotive industries in both the UK and here in NZ.

Rick wears many hats within his role at Smart Trades, such as tutoring, training, mentoring, assessing; all of which are centered around supporting apprentices within the Motor and Collision Repair industries.  He is a qualified panel-beater and has more than 20 years in the education/training arena with this trade background.

Rick is an instructor for I-Car NZ and regularly delivers training to the likes of apprentices, employers and insurance assessors to keep them up to date with the latest technology.

He has also travelled the world as a former Skill Expert for World Skills NZ competitions – the trades equivalent of the Olympic Games.  Not only helping apprentices achieve on an international stage, Rick was one of the judges for the Collision Repair category.

Claire has 20 years of experience in business administration roles within the education sector.  She enjoys the challenge of setting up new systems and improving existing ones.  “I enjoy being part of a motivated team that helps people become successful in life through upskilling and training.”

While a lot of admin is done behind the scenes, Claire believes it is a vital part of any business and should always be done with efficiency, accuracy and good customer service to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Brad is a qualified Licensed Building Practitioner and has experience in both commercial and residential building. He has tutored at G&H Trade Training and now supports apprentices across a range of Building related trades such as Roofing, Plumbing, Gas fitting, Drain laying, Electrical, Scaffolding.  He has a passion for helping young people succeed and get the best out of life.
