This project has been delivered in response to a nationwide skills shortage in the Collision Repair Industry. Through mentorship, retention and recruitment strategies, this project addresses the challenge of significantly increasing the number of people gaining and maintaining employment in the Collision Repair Industry here in Northland.

About The Project
The Northland Collision Repair Initiative is an industry-funded project that is aimed at addressing a large skills shortage within the industry in New Zealand.
At the inception of this project the New Zealand Collision Repair industry was in dire need of thousands of workers, and today the shortage is still over 1000 staff needed.
The project aimed to recruit more people and support the upskilling and training of existing people in Collision Repair in Northland and develop the region into a skills centre of excellence.
As the project comes to completion, we can say that we have made a huge impact on the skill level, training and number of tradespeople in our region, allowing the industry to weather the economic fluctuations of recent years with very good form.
